The company KYRKA MELISSOKOMIKOS KYKLOS was founded in 1988 by the beekeepers, Dimitrios and Eleni Kyrka whom attracted from the magnificent world of bees.
Initially started as a hive manufacturing laboratory and within the next three years were added the departments of bee foods and beekeeping clothing.
In 1993 was created the manufacture department of mechanical equipment and tools in terms to cover beekeepers’ needs and utilities.
Since 2001 their daughter Evangelia Kyrka, entitled as an Agronomist, took the leadership of the company. Evangelia has a Master’s degree in Food Technology and Quality Assurance from Reading University of England. She also has an Instructor Certification, given by the National Organization for the Certification of Persons & Professional Orientation (EOPPEP). As a child, she was fascinated by the world of bees and followed her parents in the beekeeping world, taking care and maintained a number of 400 family-owned bee hives. She was seriously involved in company’s business research plans regarding the improvement and development of all production and distribution lines.
Our company is located in Glyka Nera at the East Province of Attica. It’s mainly activated in producing and selling bee foods and supplements, bee medicine and all kind of beekeeping equipment in terms to facilitate the activities of novice and professional beekeepers.

RESEARCH & DEVELOPMENT (R&D)
- Department of Research and Development (R&D) for bee foods, supplements and feeding products for the bee.
- Collaboration with beekeepers from all over Greece in order to exchange know-how Knowledge through continuous testing of beekeeping products.

- Our company owns a number of 25 beehives used for Research and Development purposes related to bee evolution and reproduction programs.
QUALITY CONTROL
- HACCP & GMP systems ensure the quality of bee foods, bee supplements and bee feeding products.
- Our company conducts combined quality control tests on bee food products either using our own measurement tools or via the collaboration with valid private laboratories and Universities of Agriculture.
- Certified approvals given by the Ministry of Rural Development in accordance with the feeding animal law.

TRAINING SEMINARS
- The training of a significant number of young beekeepers in our country is an additional activity in which we have invested in recent years. Our seminars aim to educate our students about the importance of bees in the environment, as they play an important role in maintaining our fragile living ecosystem. By the end of the courses our students can maintain and manage a sufficient number of colonies in order to increase their income.
- Our company organizes beekeeping seminars throughout Greece, in collaboration with associations and cooperatives, focusing in bee nutrition, disease prevention and treatment as well as honey processing and standardization.
